Bill Young is currently serving as Washington State Department of Transportation / Washington State Ferry’s market research expert representing and advising the agencies on the Washington State Ferry Customer Survey project. Mr. Young has been involved in the initial discussion on the type of research that would be required to address the agencies informational needs, the statistical techniques best to use, and the type of modeling the underlying study could support. Mr. Young helped develop the RFP, provided help in evaluating the different vendors’ written response, was part of the selection discussions, and helped lay out the project timeline and milestones. He is providing a comprehensive review of the focus group and intercept screeners and the discussion guides. Mr. Young will review the qualitative research to provide a second set of market research eyes on the results. The same will be true as we move into the quantitative and modeling phase of the project. In short, Mr. Young’s responsibilities include providing comprehensive overview and direction of the selected research vendor during all phases of the project on behalf of the Department of Transportation and Washington State Ferries.
